It's almost a given with this band that fans would flock the venue days before the concert. Every single person wants to be up close. Nobody wants to miss out on the force and intensity of DIR EN GREY's live performances. Tonight's show at the prestigious Fillmore also marks the end of a one-month headline tour that hit 17 cities all over North America including Canada. This is the third time they have toured the United States in two years, and with every comeback they bring forth a new exhilaration!

Having played the FAMILY VALUES TOUR in the summer of 2006, DIR EN GREY garnered vast attention from media and music fans alike. Fan reaction was enormous as pre-sale orders for their latest album THE MARROW OF A BONE continued throughout their TOUR07 INWARD SCREAM up to its release on February 20, 2007. TOUR07 INWARD SCREAM, which incorporates many elements from this album, was a follow-up to the '06 tour.

On this Sunday evening at the Fillmore, the quintet from Japan stormed the stage once again and for the last time on this tour, stunning everyone in the audience with just their aura. As light filled the stage, the band became visible looking out into the expanse of excited and almost hysterical fans, and acknowledging them. The vocalist, Kyo, roared out into the crowd and the band jumped into their first number, breaking loose all hell. Boys and girls alike were trashing their heads, fists up in the air, taking every ounce of energy generated onstage as they all fought to overcome the heat enveloping the floor. The double guitar attacks from Kaoru and Die were intensely powerful while the bassist Toshiya and drummer Shinya pounded into their instruments, making the crowd go wild. Kyo was not letting the crowd win as he continued to scream out into the open space before him, sometimes in anger, and at times in fervor. After a tight 90-minute set, it all came to an end.

The intensity DIR EN GREY shares with those who watch them is like no other and it always leaves you wanting more. It's almost true to say they are your drug of choice.
